When winter is coming around, styling outfits becomes difficult. It’s too cold to wear a light top, but too warm to bundle up. For me, winter is the worst season. It makes dressing up dreadful because of how cold I know it’s going to be. I live in Canada, so our winters are extra cold. I don’t blame people for thinking we live in igloos all day because that’s exactly how it feels. Even in the mornings, it’s a struggle to drag myself out of my cold bed to get ready, where it’s much colder. Luckily, that season didn’t hit yet, so I still have time to brace myself.
The best thing to wear from now on until winter is: sweaters. That’s right- it is officially sweater dress weather! I love sweater dresses because they’re very stylish and easy to wear. Literally, all you have to do is put it on, and you can walk out without putting a single thought into anything else. Not to mention, it matches with everything. The one I’m wearing from Sheinside has a sheer layer under, sure to peak some people’s interests.
Styling Sweater Dresses
This dress in particular, I chose to keep it simple and casual. I added long layered necklaces to elongate my short figure, and a blanket scarf to keep me cozy. Because it’s approaching winter, I would recommend that everyone keep a pair of thigh high socks in their closet to pair with skirts and dresses. I like to layer 2 pairs to keep my legs warm. The few inches of skin I’m showing, I can deal with in this weather. If you want to look super laid back, you can take out the necklaces, and wrap a big, chunky scarf around your neck. Think infinity scarf chunky. If you’re still cold, or feel like this is too girly, throw on a leather moto jacket or denim vest. Everything was black, so I didn’t think it was too girly.
If you’re really into sweaters, you can check out my post with a chunky lapel cardigan where I used it to layer on top of summer clothes/ intimates. Take advantage of the sweater weather!
