I’m sure you’ve heard about bloggers and Youtubers raving about Acai bowls. I’ve wanted to try it for a long time, but I’ve been holding back because I figured it was generally the same as what I make myself for breakfast sometimes. But since it’s close to where I live, it seemed appropriate to try it out and see if it actually tastes good or if people are just saying it’s “good” because it’s a superfood. I got to find out the truth behind Acai bowls.
One day, I was walking to run some errands and I walked by this place called Mojo Bowl. It had vibrant photos of bowls with fresh looking assortments of fruits. I really like fruits and colourful looking foods, so it really peaked my interest. I wanted to know what it was all about. So I did some quick research and found out that they offer Acai bowls, smoothies, and yogurt bowls. This place was really close to where I was staying, so I kept it in mind to check out one day.
Eventually. I did and it was really worth the experience. The staff was very knowledgable and nice. They explained about the different bowls and what Acai was. They also gave us many options and we were able to redeem a $1 off coupon for our order.
The Acai bowl tasted sweet, but not overwhelming. It paired nicely with the abundance of fruits that they scooped on. It was a little pricy, but the amount of food you get for the price was pretty even. The bowl was packed and deep so you know a lot would fit in it. In fact, I don’t think I’d be able to finish the smallest bowl myself. My boyfriend and I had to share an Acai bowl and we were full after. My budget definitely wouldn’t support eating Acai bowls often from Mojo bowl, but I have no qualms about coming back and ordering another.
Unfortunately the lighting inside the place wasn’t really Insatgram-friendly, but it was very spacious and clean.
And here’s some deets of my outfit that I wore.
