A safety razor, most known to be used by men, can actually be used by all sexes. In fact, there are many benefits to using the tools instead of disposable multi-blade razors. Making the switch is a worthy investment for your personal grooming routine.
If you have coloured or damaged hair, it’s best to avoid washing it as much as possible. For me, I’ve managed to avoid washing my hair for up to two weeks (yeah, you read that right). If odour is your concern, there are also ways to freshen it up without the water or soap. And don’t worry, all of these tips are cost friendly. Like you, I am also the average income consumer who doesn’t have a lot to dish on super expensive products or hair treatments.
Balayage and Ombre have been all the rage for the past few years. It started with dip-dye, and eventually evolved into ombre, balayage, and then a fusion of both. I believe the end-goal is for a natural looking colour that’s easy to maintain because it’s not dyed to the roots but still noticeable. I’ve also been on the trend for a while because plain black hair just isn’t my thing and I’m definitely not rich enough to dye my whole head and keep maintaining the colour with my quick growing hair which ends up with nasty looking harsh roots. So, […]
Believe it or not, this makeup remover really is reuseable and cheap. It almost sounds too good to be true and I too was skeptical about the whole idea of it. And to be honest, this has changed my life and I’m never going back. I no longer use any of my old makeup removers. And yes, that include those convenient makeup removing wipes and my beloved Biotherm Balm-to-Oil Cleanser. Want to know what this holy reuseable makeup remover is? Well I’ll tell you.
Trying asian products can be intimidating because there’s such a large selection. I find myself buying more American products because I’m used to shopping for them and comparing is easy. However, when it comes to Korean and Japanese products, it’s a whole other world I don’t understand. Luckily for me, Peach & Lily were kind enough to curate me a few products that would suit my skin and its concerns. So here’s my break down of how I felt about everything.
Not too long ago, I had the pleasure of attending the KISS Fall and Holiday 2016 Collection. It was a pleasant experience at Delysees in Toronto. I have always heard of Delysees and seen many of the delicious pictures, but I had never been there. Being a girl close to Toronto, but still quite the commute away, it’s hard to drag me down there just for food. However, I finally got the chance to try it today! I had the vanilla eclair and it tastes sweet but light. They also offered wine for the guests and thai rolled ice cream! […]
I already had balayage and ombre in my hair from last year. The first picture depicts the dark and soft ombre. That I had. My hair also grew out quite a few inches since then. Because I already had balayage and ombre in my hair, my stylist Amanda simply touched up the top layer of my hair with a lighter balayage and gave me a 2 inch trim. You can see the results in the middle photo. Excuse the way my ends look, they’re always frizzy when freshly blow dried/ air drying. It was fairly brassy toned because she needed […]
I have never been to a salon to get my hair coloured before because I thought the prices were ridiculous for long and thick hair like mine. Also, I’ve heard of so many horror stories that I’m just too scared to do it. Finally, on Wednesday August 6th, I did it. I got my hair ombre’d. I originally wanted balayage, but I feel like my ombre had hints of a balayage look in it. After getting my hair done, I finally understand why people pay the price to get it professionally done. I was absolutely in love with it! I […]
This is something that’s impacted my life quite a bit, so I am very nervous about posting about this. I wanted to post it up to let anyone who’s suffering know that they’re not alone and also an update as to what’s going on. THE START OF IT – PRIMARY YEARS I’ve had acne ever since I was young, about grade 6-7 it started to sprout. However, the only place it invaded was my forehead. However, I guess to make up for it never breaking out on the rest of my face, the acne was cystic. And I’m talking the […]
I’ve have thick hair (or should I say ‘dense’ for a more accurate technical term) for my whole life. My hair strands are fair in circumference, but I have a lot of it. A lot of the common problems I run into are: Hair being too heavy to tie up– especially annoying when that last loop won’t fit my thick ponytail through it Taking ages to dry when wet Too much hair everywhere when I sleep- also tends to crease when I need a strong hold Curls being prone to falling straight quickly Bobby pins consistently being ruined when stretched out […]
