I love geometric pieces. They show off a sense of sophistication and edge. The hard lines make me think of a professional business woman while the colours and different dimensions of the shapes convey a creative image. They’ve been in season since winter but I haven’t been able to get my hands on the perfect piece until now.
The weather in Toronto has been wavering between fall and spring. It’s chilly in the morning, but warmer during the afternoon. Being a commuter student, I need to dress according to both climates because if I leave the house in the morning, it’s already afternoon by the time I get to school. Having versatile jackets is a pretty high priority in my books.
Spring weather has been coming and going recently. It’s literally like a tease. One day it’s 2’C, another day it’s -7’C. Sometimes it even starts at -7’C and becomes 5’C in the afternoon. So obviously, picking out what to wear is the biggest confusion for me. When the weather is bipolar, all I want to do is be laid back and stay in bed. The stress of having to choose attire that I won’t regret is too much. Luckily, crop tops are so versatile. You can literally style it for all 4 seasons and still look weather sensible. Crop tops should […]
Today was a warm day. In fact, this whole week has been warm, averaging about 2’C. Thinking about it, that’s actually pretty sad that we Canadians are calling it ‘nice’ weather when in comparison to summer or real spring weather, it’s quite ‘cold’. Well, I’m not complaining. I’m happy that the snow is melting and I can chuck my big winter jacket to the back of my closet. No more bulkiness, yay! This weather is actually perfect for layering a variety of textures without feeling too cold or too hot. When my houndstooth skirt first came in the mail, I thought I […]
As of today, the weather is starting to warm up. Finally, it’s going to stop being -30’C… I hope. So before I can start accumulating more pastel colours and light pieces, I’m sharing my last few winter outfits that I have saved up.
As I am writing this, the weather outside is treacherous. You think you can walk outside for 10 minutes and suck it up, but no, that’s not the case. The first few breaths you breathe in instantly form icicles inside your nose. I guess that’s what I get for living in the GTA with -30’C weather. The funny thing is, Toronto is a lot closer to lakes, but also a lot warmer in climate than my city. I guess having a lot of buildings pays off in the winter. Well, regardless of the weather, I’m still going to run outside […]
This is actually the first jumper I’ve ever owned and worn out. I always admired fashion bloggers who strutted down roads in their long jumpers. I always associated the piece with tall, slim people. I always stayed away because I felt intimidated being 5’0. I thought I would look even shorter, frumpy, and just plain awkward. Just imagine a little woman with her crotch hanging low, sleeves falling off, and pants dragging 6 inches behind her. That was what I though I would look like. But, I finally collected some courage to purchase my first jumper. And it definitely does […]
My closet has been taken over completely by black and white attire. It’s like I have no colour in my closet at all. I actually try to order things with color, even if it’s a soft pastel that isn’t too bold, but my finger just don’t click “add to shopping cart”. In fact, I find my mouse hovering over the thumbnail for a few seconds before I click away. Something about colours in fall & winter just doesn’t strike with me. I think I’ll have to wait until spring and summer to begin collecting colored items.
I just have to say, that the lengths that we Canadian Youtubers go through to take nice videos or pictures, is quite extensive. In this season, the main problem is trying not to freeze our limbs outside in the cold. The weather was probably -22’C this day, and I don’t even want to think about it. But for nice lighting and dynamic backgrounds, I guess I can suck it up. I do love how frosty these photos look though. Did I pretend that I wasn’t freezing well?
Business, blazer, dress pants, stiffness, no. When it comes to business attire, I stray away from all those uncomfortable, generic, and plain outfits. I believe that office outfits shouldn’t be restricted to it. Of course for certain fields it’s necessary, but I stay away. So how do you achieve the ultimate comfort? Well- with sweatpants of course!
Wearing intimates in public has been seen as a taboo for a while. They’re supposedly meant for at- home purposes, or covered up. However, recently intimates have been trending in public. Bras, corsets, bustiers, slips, all of them are now acceptable to show in public (if styled the right way, of course). Be dazzled bras can be worn to music festivals, sexy bras can be worn under sheet tops, bustiers are now tops, and slips are awesome layering pieces. Honestly, I never though I’d ever be able to get my hands on the perfect slip dress, but I finally found […]
When winter is coming around, styling outfits becomes difficult. It’s too cold to wear a light top, but too warm to bundle up. For me, winter is the worst season. It makes dressing up dreadful because of how cold I know it’s going to be. I live in Canada, so our winters are extra cold. I don’t blame people for thinking we live in igloos all day because that’s exactly how it feels. Even in the mornings, it’s a struggle to drag myself out of my cold bed to get ready, where it’s much colder. Luckily, that season didn’t hit […]
I’ve been using stick on bras for about 8 years so far. I’ve worn them with dresses and shirts of all sorts. When I started, the main purpose for them was because I could not wear strapless bras. My bust measurement was too small, and all bras would fall off. So, in place os strapless bras, I was introduced to adhesive ones. I’ve been introduced to many different styles and tops throughout the years, so I have quite the experience with these.
I am so excited to share this Hunger Games DIY with you. Because it’s Halloween season, I’m feeling all crafty! Of course, the one thing I’d choose to make it Katniss Everdeen‘s wedding dress from Catching Fire. Honestly, when she walked out with the dress, it was absolutely stunning. Something about how detailed, dainty, yet extravagant the wing details are with the elegant voluminous dress made me fall in love with it. Obviously, on my budget, I won’t be able to make Katniss’s full dress length, but I decided to go shorter to make it more practical. Unfortunately I don’t […]
Totoro is a character from the movie “My Neighbour Totoro“. His character is so well known that I knew about him and who he is without ever watching the movie for years. Totoro is such a simple character: happy, lazy, sleepy, cute, and kind, making it no surprise he’s the favourite character of many! I knew I had to make a costume because he is so iconic, and who doesn’t want to be all cozy for Halloween in a giant sweater?! No uncomfortable, tight, or high maintenance problems here! Plus, if it’s cold where you live like it is in Canada, you’ll […]
