Now, I go through a lot of phases when it comes to healthy eating. And when I say that, I mean I have a very select few dishes I always make when I want something to eat that’s full of flavour and “special” because it’s not just quinoa and whatever dish is on the dinner table. Making healthy meals and trying new recipes is so recreational and therapeutic to me. it’s also very adventurous because you don’t know how it’s going to taste or turn out.
Halloween is all about sweets, candy, chips, and everything that would upset our bodies and rot our teeth. For the children, and for us, it can’t be good at all. I’m trying to eat healthier, so all that it a no-no. Instead, I decided to play in the kitchen to find out what I can make that’s sweet, healthy, and still taste pretty damn amazing. Each of these recipes are slightly similar to one another, making it easy to make all of them. I hope you enjoy them!
This is my absolute favourite and tastiest of my healthy Halloween treats series. I have a sweet tooth for dark chocolate, and this is the best to satiate my cravings! It also reminds me of Reese cups. I mean- if it’s dark chocolate, it has to be kind of healthy, right? haha.
One of my favourite healthy halloween treats is devilled eggs. They are a great source of protein, and you can adjust the taste to whatever you want it to be. If you feel a little spicy, add some hot sauce. If you feel more savoury, mix in some chives or coriander. The possibilities are endless! Adjust the recipe to your liking since we all like something different!
These have to be the cutest healthy Halloween treats that I have made this year. They are my absolute favourite and SO EASY to make. Not to mention it’s great for kids! With cute faces smiling at you, what more can you want? This is also great for making with the kids. Give them a sharpie and let them draw the faces on the disposable shot ups themselves! let their imaginations run wild! There are quite a few variations of this recipe that I have compiled to achieve whatever your taste buds prefer.
So, after attending a seminar about this product, I felt the need to give it a try. The main goal for using this product is not only to nourish my body with nutrients, but also to try and minimize my acne. This product is known for maximum absorption of nutrients into your body. Nutrients absorb much better in liquid form than in pill form (which is what I normally take). Only 10-20% of the pill’s nutrients are absorbed. Meanwhile, liquid is 90-98%. If I’m paying so much for vitamins, I might as well get my money’s worth, am I right? […]
I have never been to a salon to get my hair coloured before because I thought the prices were ridiculous for long and thick hair like mine. Also, I’ve heard of so many horror stories that I’m just too scared to do it. Finally, on Wednesday August 6th, I did it. I got my hair ombred. I originally wanted Balayage, but I feel like my ombre had hints of a Balayage look in it. After getting my hair done, I finally understand why people pay the price to get it professionally done. I was absolutely in love with it! I […]
This is something that’s impacted my life quite a bit, so I am very nervous about posting about this. I wanted to post it up to let anyone who’s suffering know that they’re not alone and also an update as to what’s going on. THE START OF IT – PRIMARY YEARS I’ve had acne ever since I was young, about grade 6-7 it started to sprout. However, the only place it invaded was my forehead. However, I guess to make up for it never breaking out on the rest of my face, the acne was cystic. And I’m talking the […]
I’ve have thick hair (or should I say ‘dense’ for a more accurate technical term) for my whole life. My hair strands are fair in circumference, but I have a lot of it. A lot of the common problems I run into are: Hair being too heavy to tie up– especially annoying when that last loop won’t fit my thick ponytail through it Taking ages to dry when wet Too much hair everywhere when I sleep- also tends to crease when I need a strong hold Curls being prone to falling straight quickly Bobby pins consistently being ruined when stretched out […]
At the beginning of the week I came back to my room to find this: An invitation from my two friends to a boat cruise on the day of my birthday! Now on to the actual day, we went through some commuting troubles in terms of unreliable transportation services that came late. But eventually we made it!
When it comes to being a student, trying to avoid the freshmen 15 is not an easy task. Trying to get all your vegetables and nutrients into one meal while making it compact and portable can be a challenge. The best lunches I find are the ones that require no heat because you can literally pull your meal out of your bag and eat it instantly with ease. Here are some of my suggestions: Cloud Bread Turkey Sandwich Ingredients Cloud bread Lettuce Greek yogurt Chia seeds Cheese slices Turkey slices Steps Mix greek yogurt and chia seeds to make a dressing […]
I love quinoa salads because I can bring them to work, school, or even as a meal when going out without having to go through the trouble of finding a microwave to heat it up. We’ve all had that experience when we have a short lunch break and end up spending a large portion of it lining up, waiting for the microwave. In fact, some times there is no microwave within a decent distance! As a result, a no heat, healthy meal is what’s needed. Now this recipe is so easy and so customizable to your taste buds. Want tangy? Add a squeeze of lemon […]
